Vital Support Ministries Prayer Team

An urgent opportunity facing OMF International (U.S.) is the need to mobilize more new workers and to increase awareness of the billions of East Asians who have yet to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Funding for our Vital Support Ministries (VSM), enables strategic moblization opportunities. This includes empowering our U.S. based missionary workers to find, mentor and guide individuals who are seriously considering God’s calls to missions and to help them determine where God is specifically calling them, whether with OMF International or not. Great care is taken with every VSM dollar, seeking to ensure wise stewardship of these resources as kingdom investments.

When Hudson Taylor prayed for the first 24 laborers, there were logistical requirements for each of them to be sent to serve in China. Prayer, awareness, communication and training were essential for them to answer the call to go. The same is true for the hundreds of missionaries who have followed their footsteps to serve with OMF International in East Asia. Our U.S. vision is to see growing movements of God's people, prayer and resources released and upheld to bring the hope of Christ to East Asia's peoples.

God calls us to pray and lay our needs at his feet. Hudson Taylor once said "Many Christians estimate difficulty in the light of their own resources, and thus they attempt very little and they always fail. All giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on his power and presence to be with them."
